Diamond Mountain University Introduction to Sanskrit

Windows users can download iTranslator (http://www.omkarananda-ashram.org/Sanskrit/Itranslt.html), a free tool for generating Devanagari text and Roman text with diacritical marks. Also available for Windows is a CD-ROM version of the Monier-Williams Sanskrit-English Dictionary (http://www.thekrishnastore.com/Detail.bok?no=2295&bar) ($1.00 for mailing).

Mac users can download a preliminary version of a Monier-Williams dictionary reader from MWMac.

We have a transliteration table for folks who want to know how to transliterate Sanskrit into the ACIP transliteration format: SktTranslit.pdf (http://www.dmes.org/pdfs/SktTranslit.pdf).

In addition, we have a transliteration table for the to the traditional Roman with diacriticals: SanskritDiacrit.pdf (http://www.dmes.org/pdfs/SanskritDiacrit.pdf).

Andrea has prepared a new transliteration table for the Harvard-Kyoto Devanagari transliteration system, which is used by the online and Mac versions of the Monier-Williams dictionary. You can download this transliteration as a PDF file here: translit-chart.pdf (http://www.dmes.org/pdfs/translit-chart.pdf).
