The reason the bulletin boards are down is that someone vandalized them on March 30th. It wasn't a targeted attack - they vandalized about 6000 bulletin boards that happened to have the same bug over the course of three days. Pretty sad.
I don't know when I'm going to have time to bring the bulletin boards back. None of the contents of the bulletin boards were lost - the problem for me is figuring out how to bring them back up without them being defaced again.
The really bad news is that it's possible that the people who hacked the bulletin board got your bulletin board password, and know that your email address is associated with that password. If you only use the password to access the bulletin board, you're in the clear. However, if you used it anywhere else, particularly if you use a web-based mail service like gmail or hotmail, you should change your password.
The reason is that it's easy to make the connection between your email address and your login account, and if they make that connection, they can start spamming from your email account, and this will result in you losing your email account, which would be bad.
Anyway, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. When I figure out what to do next, you'll see something new here.
